What is idleDEX

Grid-based catching MMO played in the browser, made for phones first, in which the team hunts in auto mode and the server decides encounters, battles and catches. The hunt continues with the tab closed, within a cap of hours, and there are gyms, a World Boss, a player market and an official wiki with the game's numbers.

• Played in the browser, with a layout designed first for small screens (on-screen d-pad), and it can be installed as an app from the browser menu.
• With auto on in a hunting map, the team keeps hunting after the player leaves, and a report shows what happened on return.
• Offline hunting pays out for up to 4 hours on free accounts and 8 hours on premium accounts; server maintenance time doesn't count.
• The game's Pokédex has 923 species.
• Gyms give badges that open new regions, and the trainer rank goes from 1 to 33, unlocking maps.
• The World Boss brings the whole server together and is the only place where megas appear; there are three daily quests, plus the login bonus.
• The player market accepts creatures, balls and items, paid in silver or gold.
• The beta has ended; the site keeps a beta Hall of Fame and a podium per season.
• Gold is bought by card (Stripe) or PIX (AbacatePay and PagoExpress), with a 7-day right of withdrawal; Founder Pack sales have ended.
• On 09/22/2026, the site's public counter showed 21,091 trainers and 591 players online.

Do you need to keep the tab open?

According to the idleDEX site, the account keeps progressing with the tab closed.

With auto (AUTO) on in a hunting map, the server keeps hunting with the tab closed, using the same settings. The official wiki limits offline earnings to 4 hours (free account) or 8 hours (premium). Seu time caça mesmo com a aba fechada. (source)

So here, keeping the tab open is more about following the account, responding to events and noticing when something goes wrong than about keeping progress.

Rules: multiple accounts, automation and VPN

What the rules published by idleDEX said on Sep 22, 2026:

• Multiple accounts: the site doesn't say. The Extended Agreement says the account is personal and non-transferable, but says nothing about having more than one account.
• Automation (bots, macros, scripts): forbidden. The agreement forbids bots, scripts, macros, modified clients and any automation other than the game's own (the official auto mode is allowed). Usar bots, scripts, macros, clientes modificados ou qualquer automação não oferecida pelo próprio jogo. (source)
• VPN and proxy: the site doesn't say. The agreement says nothing about VPN or proxy. The privacy policy says the IP address is logged for security and abuse investigation.
• Selling items for real money (RMT): forbidden. The Extended Agreement forbids selling, buying or trading accounts, characters, items or in-game currency for money or goods outside idleDEX, and says nothing in the game can be converted into money. How to leave idleDEX running in IdleDeck

1. Download IdleDeck (free, Windows 10 and 11) and link the app to your IdleDeck account — it takes a minute.
2. Click Add account, go to Other game or site and paste idledex.com/play.
3. Sign in to your idleDEX account in that window, just like in the browser. Each IdleDeck account has its own login, cookies and cache — repeat step 2 for each account the game's rules allow.
4. Turn on alerts: Windows notification, sound or a Discord webhook to know on your phone when the account drops.
5. You can minimize. Since the game progresses offline, here IdleDeck keeps the account open, organized and signed in, and alerts you when it drops or goes back to the login screen.
