What is Gengar Idle

Pokémon idle MMORPG played in the browser, with an open map, hunting and catching, guilds, a player market and endgame content in towers and in its own region. The game includes official automation (Auto-Helper) and an Away Mode in which the server keeps hunting even with the game closed.

• Played in the browser on PC or phone; on phone, the game asks for the screen sideways (landscape).
• The account is created with a trainer name and password, or with Google, and the player picks Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle as the starter.
• The official Auto-Helper turns on automatic hunting, catching, fishing, healing, reviving and evolving, plus selling duplicate pokémon.
• In Away Mode the server keeps hunting with the game closed and, when you return, shows a report with XP, gold, kills and loot.
• On 08/30/2026 (Beta 2.0) the world was reset and everyone started over from scratch; the same note mentions 841 species with revised stats.
• The endgame has the Challenge Tower (150 floors, from level 250, with a weekly reset), the Apex Tower (endless floors, from level 500) and the Outland region.
• The Ranked Arena is PvP against the defense team saved by other players, with 10 attacks per day, and the Guild War runs on its own, with no need to be online.
• There is a player market for pokémon, shinies, stones and items, paid in gold or diamonds.
• Diamonds are given as a thank-you for donations via Pix, which are non-refundable except for double charges or undelivered diamonds; VIP Premium lasts 30 days.
• The chance of finding a shiny became 1 in 3,500 in the 09/09/2026 update.

Do you need to keep the tab open?

According to the Gengar Idle site, the account keeps progressing with the tab closed.

With Away Mode on, the server keeps hunting even with the game closed and shows a full report when the player returns. The Arena and the Guild War also fight without the player online. Pode até fechar o jogo: o farm continua e o relatório completo aparece quando você voltar. (source)

So here, keeping the tab open is more about following the account, responding to events and noticing when something goes wrong than about keeping progress.

Rules: multiple accounts, automation and VPN

What the rules published by Gengar Idle said on Sep 22, 2026:

• Multiple accounts: limited. The site's code shows a cap on accounts online at the same time per IP (anyone over the cap can't log in); creating accounts is not limited. The cap is set in the server configuration, which the administration can turn on or off, and it is not disclosed; the terms say nothing about multiple accounts. • Automation (bots, macros, scripts): forbidden. The terms provide for suspension or ban for external automation (unofficial bots). The game's own official automation (Auto-Helper and Away Mode) is allowed. • VPN and proxy: the site doesn't say. The terms say nothing about VPN or proxy.
• Selling items for real money (RMT): forbidden. The terms say diamonds, pokémon, items and progress are virtual goods with no cash value, which cannot be exchanged for money or withdrawn, and ask players not to sell or share their account. How to leave Gengar Idle running in IdleDeck

1. Download IdleDeck (free, Windows 10 and 11) and link the app to your IdleDeck account — it takes a minute.
2. Click Add account, go to Other game or site and paste gengar.com.br.
3. Sign in to your Gengar Idle account in that window, just like in the browser. Each IdleDeck account has its own login, cookies and cache — repeat step 2 for each account the game's rules allow.
4. Turn on alerts: Windows notification, sound or a Discord webhook to know on your phone when the account drops.
5. You can minimize. Since the game progresses offline, here IdleDeck keeps the account open, organized and signed in, and alerts you when it drops or goes back to the login screen.
