Midgard Idle (.ro): what it is, rules and how to leave it running on your PC

What is Midgard Idle (.ro)

Portuguese-language idle MMORPG with the look and rules of classic Ragnarok, played in the browser, with configurable auto-hunting, parties hunting in formation and MVPs. It is in alpha with almost daily updates, and the FAQ promises a single reset, when moving from Beta to launch. Not to be confused with the Midgard Idle at midgardidle.com, which is a different game.

• The alpha started with version 1.0.0, on July 12, 2026; on September 21, 2026 the game was already at 1.28.1.
• On reaching job level 10, the starting character can become a Swordsman, Mage, Archer, Acolyte, Merchant or Thief; second classes are being released gradually (Alchemist, Crusader, Sage and Dancer are among those already announced).
• Auto-hunting lets you choose the monsters on each map, set automatic potions by percentage and, in a party, hunt in Formation with shared EXP.
• v1.23.0 (September 3, 2026) enabled direct trading of items and Zeny between players and opened the Vote Points Shop; TopIdle votes have given points since v1.12.0.
• Since v1.25.0 (September 12, 2026) you can buy MidgardCoins via Pix and spend them in the Midgard Store.
• According to the FAQ, the move from Alpha to Beta will have no reset; the only reset will come when leaving Beta for launch, keeping the Founder title and cosmetics for those who support it in Beta.
• Each account keeps only one active session (v1.0.5), and since v1.26.0 the game warns when the same network reaches the limit of simultaneous sessions.
• Since v1.14.0 there is no password: to log in, the player receives an access code by email.
• Several update notes include tweaks for playing on the phone.

Do you need to keep the tab open?

The Midgard Idle (.ro) site doesn't say whether the account progresses with the tab closed (checked Sep 22, 2026).

The home page promises progress even when the player is away, and the client says the simulation continues on the server while the tab is not visible, but the site does not explain whether the character keeps hunting with the tab or browser closed. construa seu legado mesmo enquanto estiver ausente (source)

You can find out in an hour: note your XP or loot, close the tab, come back later and compare. If nothing changed, the game needs the page open — and a regular browser slows down or even discards background tabs (see why idle games stop in the background).

Rules: multiple accounts, automation and VPN

What the rules published by Midgard Idle (.ro) said on Sep 22, 2026:

• Multiple accounts: limited. One active session per account (v1.0.5) and a limit on simultaneous sessions from the same network, with an in-game notice (v1.26.0). • Automation (bots, macros, scripts): the site doesn't say. There is no published rule; the client lists the use of prohibited programs or methods as a reason for suspension, without saying which ones. Uso de programas ou métodos proibidos. (source)
• VPN and proxy: the site doesn't say. Nothing about VPN or proxy on the pages and notes consulted.
• Selling items for real money (RMT): the site doesn't say. The FAQ mentions RMT among the systems being adjusted in the Alpha that will remain in development in the Beta, but there is no published rule on selling items or accounts for real money. Economia, Trade e RMT; (source)

How to leave Midgard Idle (.ro) running in IdleDeck

1. Download IdleDeck (free, Windows 10 and 11) and link the app to your IdleDeck account — it takes a minute.
2. Click Add account, go to Other game or site and paste play.midgardidle.ro.
3. Sign in to your Midgard Idle (.ro) account in that window, just like in the browser. Each IdleDeck account has its own login, cookies and cache — repeat step 2 for each account the game's rules allow.
4. Turn on alerts: Windows notification, sound or a Discord webhook to know on your phone when the account drops.
5. You can minimize. The page stays awake with the window minimized or in the tray. If it drops, IdleDeck retries on its own; if the game's connection drops, it alerts you — and reloads on its own if you turn that option on in the settings.
